E. Health and well being for Members and the community for a cost justified by the results.
E.1
Products and Services - Members and the community have access to products and services that:
- Satisfy customer expectations
- Promote health and well being
- Are convenient for customers
- Include affordable options
- Give preference to local production, organic practices and certified Fair Trade (in that order) for a cost consistent with achieving earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization, and rebates (EBITDAR) equal to or greater than the median EBITDAR value for comparably sized NCGA members in the same fiscal year period.
E.1 is of a priority significantly greater than the following Ends, in that the successful operation of the store(s) provides resources for their accomplishment. These additional Ends are of roughly the same priority and will be funded with approximately 1% of gross sales from E.1 operations.

Cooperative Community - Members are able to engage with each other in a manner consistent with the Cooperative Values, reflected in their increased:
- Volunteering in the cooperative community
- Member volunteers perceive that they are making a valuable commitment to PFC and the community
- Member volunteers perceive that they are recognized, and appreciated
- Participating in PFC deliberations, elections and events
- Interacting with each other socially
- Acting together to support social or environmental causess
- Networking and sharing of resources

Collective Action - Members are able to use PFC to collectively support activities and organizations that are working to increase the health of the community and the environment.

Education - Members and the community have a source of knowledge and information conducive to:

- Sustainable Environment

- Practices
- Cooperative Community
- Cooperative Values and Principles
- The history and function of cooperatives in the economy
- The history of and the structure of PFC (including governance model and policies)
These policies will be monitored annually in January by means of a report from the General Manager.
